I am a third-year ICT student at Fontys University of Applied Sciences, currently doing my internship at Bierens Group in Veghel. Bierens is an organization specialized in debt collection and legal services for businesses and operates both nationally and internationally.
My internship project focuses on researching how automation, company data, and AI can support the Sales process at Bierens. I am investigating the current process, possible technologies and AI approaches, while also experimenting with solutions such as AI agents and n8n.

Bierens is an international organization based in Veghel, the Netherlands, specializing in debt collection and legal services for businesses. The organization works with companies from different countries and handles both national and international cases.
During my internship at Bierens, I am working on a Sales automation research project. Bierens receives approximately 20,000 requests per year. Sales employees currently need to review these requests, read case descriptions and retrieve additional company information to determine whether a request is relevant and worth pursuing. This creates a considerable amount of manual and repetitive work.
My project investigates how automation, company data and Artificial Intelligence can support this process. I am researching how incoming requests can be automatically processed and enriched with relevant company information, and how this information can support the prioritization of requests based on Bierens' business criteria.
An important part of my research is determining which tasks should be handled by normal automation and business rules, and where AI can provide additional value. For example, AI could help with summarizing long case descriptions or identifying missing information, while structured business criteria can be handled separately. I am also investigating n8n as a possible platform for connecting and orchestrating the different parts of the process.
The goal is to create a solution that supports Sales rather than replaces their judgment. Employees should still be able to review the information and classification before deciding how to continue with a request. Throughout the project, I am also researching reliability, data quality, security, privacy and responsible AI use.

This portfolio follows my internship from the first weeks of understanding the business problem through research, experimentation, development and evaluation — including my progress, reflections, feedback and development during my time at Bierens.
